Biography

born in ilhéus_ brazil_ 1961_ lives and works in são paulo www.georgiakyriakakis.com.br Artist and professor, Geórgia Kyriakakis graduated from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, and received her Masters and PhD in Arts from the University of São Paulo. She has been lecturing in fine arts since 1997 at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado and at Centro Universitário Belas Artes, where she also lectures in post-graduate studies. She has been exhibiting her work since 1986, and has received numerous awards: Prêmio Funarte de Arte Contemporânea/2012; Bolsa Vitae de Artes/2002; O Artista Pesquisador/Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói/2001; Prêmio Brasília de Artes Plásticas/1992, among others.
