Galeria Raquel Arnaud participates in Art Basel 2025, taking place from Thursday, June 19th to Sunday, June 22 in Basel, Switzerland, with works by two major figures of constructivist art, Sergio Camargo and kinetic art, Carlos Cruz-Diez.

In the main booth, the gallery will showcase works by Sergio Camargo (Rio de Janeiro, 1930–1990), one of the most important sculptors in Brazilian history. Among the highlights are emblematic pieces in carrara marble, black belgium stone, bronze, and his iconic painted wood reliefs—works that explore the relationship between light, shadow, material, and space, which are hallmarks of his artistic practice.

Camargo developed a unique visual language based on simple geometric forms, that when organized generate vibrant surfaces animated by the interplay of light and shadow. Throughout his career, he worked extensively in Brazil, France, and Italy, engaging in dialogue with masters such as Brancusi and Vantongerloo. His works are part of major institutional collections, including the Centre Pompidou (Paris), MoMA (New York), Tate Gallery (London), MAM-SP and Pinacoteca (São Paulo).

Concurrently, in the Unlimited sector—dedicated to large-scale works and immersive installations—the gallery will present Labyrinthe de Transchromie A, Paris (1965/2017) by Carlos Cruz-Diez (Caracas, 1923–2019), a pioneer of kinetic art and the exploration of color as a living, dynamic experience.

The installation is composed of colored plexiglass panels arranged orthogonally, creating a pathway through which the audience moves, experiencing the continuous transformation of colors. As the viewer walks, the surrounding landscape is filtered, distorted, and redefined through chromatic overlap. First exhibited in 1981 at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas, the work has since become one of the artist’s most iconic pieces.
