In honor of its participation this year at the FIAC (Foire d’Art Contemporain) in Paris, Galeria Raquel Arnaud is organizing a parallel show in its exhibition space in São Paulo, in dialogue with what will be exhibited in the city of light.
During the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, Paris was a preferred destination for foreign artists, writers, and intellectuals who left their countries, attracted by the cultural movement of Paris. Some of them ended up returning to their home countries, others stayed in France or Europe, and some of them passed away, while others are still extremely active.
The exhibition features works, both old and recent, produced in Paris by some of the most important Latin American artists of the second half of the 20th century and who for three decades was represented by the Gallery in Brazil as Arthur Luiz Piza, Carlos Zilio, Lygia Clark, Sergio Camargo, Sérvulo Esmeraldo, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesús Rafael Soto and Julio Le Parc, allowing the Brazilian public to see in São Paulo an exhibition parallel to the FIAC. d’Art Contemporain) in Paris, Galeria Raquel Arnaud organizes a parallel show in its exhibition space in São Paulo, in dialogue with what will be shown in the city of light.
