Carlos Fajardo, in No Aberto, unfolds the issues presented in his previous show at the gallery, Tênue (2011). The artist reinforces Helio Oiticica’s idea that the public is a participant and not a spectator. “He [the audience] inserts himself in the works and, in this way, influences them through his presence and reflectivity”, says Fajardo.
The 11 works presented in the exhibition were created from different materials such as mirrors, colored laminated glass, fabrics, and photographs, in dimensions that correspond to the human scale. The works, in addition to approaching the multiplication of the visitor’s image, explore the relationship between the plastic surface and its possible visual reflections when associated with the materials used. The show also has an installation that resembles a straight-line labyrinth.
