Last Exhibition at Rua Artur de Azevedo

“The consistency of the importance of an artist comes from the improvement of his/ her phases and investigations. For an artist, as well as for an art gallery, it is crucial to maintain a resolute line of work. The trajectory of the ‘Gabinete de Arte’ has been marked by striking visual choices and by an effort to put into perspective the trends that the gallery represents. The exchange that I have with the artists of the ‘Gabinete de Arte’ comes from an established affinity. It starts with enthusiasm for their art work and develops into friendship and complicity, cultivated throughout our lasting partnerships while maintaining our commercial exchange. The exhibition ‘Transition/From now on…’ marks our departure from the gallery at Rua Artur de Azevedo, where we made memorable exhibitions since 1992. At this moment where I transition to a new gallery space, I have decided to show the evolution of my work through my artists, which I will display an older and a newer piece alongside each other. ‘Transition/From now on…’ reaffirms that the confidence that I have had in my artists in the past continues – all of which have become renowned and recognized internationally.”
