Maria-Carmen Perlingeiro | Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro

November 11, 2012, through January 13, 2013

The exhibition Luz de Pedra features eight sculptures produced in recent years, many of them being shown for the first time: Dois irmãos, Corações, Solados, Hot Ice, A bela e a fera, Micas, As Horas, and the installation Os Cones, each of them made up of different elements, for a total of 79 pieces. They are works of an artisanal character, made on the basis of intense spatial research: torsos and polyhedra of alabaster (a stone that the artist has been using in her work for a long time), goat skins, gypsum ice, mica crystals fastened to acrylic sheets, and gold leaf.
